Declaration on accessibility for services
As part of our accessibility statement, we would like to give you an overview of the status of the compatibility of the service(s) described below with the accessibility requirements according to legal regulations (in particular with the Accessibility Reinforcement Act - BFSG).
Details of the service provider

General description of the service
Information and sales platform for floor coverings, in particular parquet, laminate flooring and design flooring, under the brand HARO. The service is provided on the website www.haro.com and is aimed at private and business customers in German-speaking countries and internationally.
Explanation of how the service is provided
We provide comprehensive information on our floor coverings (e.g. parquet, laminate flooring, design flooring) via our website www.haro.com. Users can compare products, request samples, use the HARO room planner for a virtual floor view and contact sales partners via the specialist dealer service. We also offer technical data sheets, installation instructions, inspirational content and a dealer search function for direct on-site or online purchases.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
The above-mentioned service is partially compatible with the Barrier-Free Strengthening Act (BFSG).
The following parts/contents/functions of the service are not barrier-free:
- PDF documents, such as technical data sheets, catalogs or installation instructions, are currently not available in a fully accessible structure (e.g. with tags for screen readers). This means that users with assistive technologies cannot access all of the content.
- The interactive HARO room planner (Room Visualizer) cannot be fully operated using the keyboard and does not provide alternative, text-based descriptions of the visual content.
- The slider elements integrated on the website, for example on the homepage or in product overviews, cannot be controlled or focused using the keyboard throughout. This means that they can only be used to a limited extent by purely keyboard-based user groups.
- Some video and audio content is integrated without subtitles or transcripts, meaning that it is not fully accessible for people with hearing impairments.
- Forms, such as in the dealer search or in contact areas, sometimes lack explicit labels or semantic attributes. This makes it difficult to use with screen readers or other assistive software.
We strive to continuously improve the digital accessibility of our online services. Future developments will be made with special consideration of these requirements.
Accessible alternatives
We already provide alternative formats for some content that is not yet fully accessible:
- Technical information on products - such as structure, usage class or installation instructions - is not only available in PDF documents, but also directly on the respective product detail pages as HTML text.
- The interactive application HARO Room Visualizer, which can be used to virtually display floors in a room, is not completely barrier-free. Alternatively, visitors can use the classic product search as well as the sample images, room views and style worlds provided, which give a visual impression - without interactive controls.
- The retailer search is not exclusively map-based: A list view with names, addresses and contact details is also provided, which can also be used without graphical orientation.
- For content in videos without subtitles, we also offer written product descriptions and text-based information on the respective topic pages.
In addition, we offer personal support by e-mail or telephone to make information available in an individually accessible form if required.
Further accessible alternatives are currently being implemented and will be added to on an ongoing basis.
Non-accessible parts of the service - implementation deadlines
Improving digital accessibility is an ongoing process for us. Some functions and content can already be adapted when updates are made - others are beyond our direct control. The current status is as follows:
- PDF documents, such as technical data sheets or installation instructions, are successively made accessible with each new publication or revision. The entire document archive will be converted step by step.
- The HARO Room Visualizer is an external software solution from a foreign provider. As we only use this service as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, we have no direct influence on its technical design and accessibility. It is therefore not possible to make adjustments at short notice.
- Our embedded videos come exclusively from YouTube. The subtitle and transcript functions are provided there and can be activated via the corresponding YouTube settings. We have no direct influence on the quality and completeness of the subtitles.
- A technical revision is in preparation for forms and control elements without clear labeling or ARIA labels. This will take place as part of ongoing front-end optimizations, whereby new content will be developed as barrier-free as possible.
