When cork turns into wood - the Arteo XL 4V design
A breath of fresh air for HARO Cork Floors: with the Arteo design you can enjoy the warmth and softness of cork with an authentic wood look.
Taking good care of your floor preserves its value and beauty and is important for the warranty. Perfect floor care today is not rocket science. This is especially true for HARO floor coverings, which thanks to their high-quality surfaces are very fast, simple and easy to maintain. Dry cleaning with a broom, mop or vacuum cleaner is generally all you need to do. To remove ingrained dirt or to provide added surface protection, simply give your floor covering a damp wipe with the recommended clean & green cleaning agent. You're done!
To maintain the floor's quality and appearance, we recommend using felt or Teflon gliders on furniture, polycarbonate mats for any chair castors as well as doormats at entrances. A constant room temperature is also important – not only for your personal well-being, but also for your floor: 20°C (68°F) at a relative air humidity of 50 to 60 percent is ideal for wood floors. Optimal maintenance of the floor right from the start is, of course, just as important. Especially if you have a high-quality floor covering like parquet, laminate or cork, the optimally coordinated clean & green care and cleaning products are ideal for you.
How hot should the mop water be?
Using cold water is best to ensure optimal care for your floor. The clean & green floor cleaners are especially designed for use in cold water so you should ideally use cold water to mop your floor. The advantage is that cold water dries more slowly and evenly on the floor's surface so that mopping leaves no smears or streaks.
How damp is damp?
Parquet, laminate, etc. should be damp cleaned. So what exactly does damp mean?
Damp, as you can imagine it, in the sense of the hazy mist that forms on the floor or mirror after a luxurious bath or shower. In terms of your floor cloth or wet-mop head then, this means wring it out thoroughly – in fact so vigorously that there is scarcely any water remaining. This is the optimal mop dampness for wiping your floor.
Will damp mopping really clean my floor?
Yes, it will. Thanks to the special composition of the clean & green cleaner, very little water is needed to effectively remove dirt from your floor. "The more the better"? – That's a cliché that you can finally erase from your vocabulary with clean & green.
What's the best way to mop my floor?
In general this is what you should do: first remove all loose dirt and dust with a broom or a vacuum cleaner using the appropriate attachment for parquet floors. Then take a bucket with five litres of cold water and add ½ a dosage cap of clean & green cleaner. Dampen a suitable wiping cloth or mop head with the prepared cleaning solution and wipe your floor in the direction of installation. This will give you the best cleaning results without smears and without having to mop again.
Our tip:clean from top to bottom.
This means: first remove dust or dirt from shelves, worktops and tables and finally clean your floor.
Why are there always smears remaining after mopping?
You mop and mop again, yet there are still streaks and smears remaining on your floor? You simply cannot remove these? This is generally because there are still dirt particles in or on the floor or because the mop head or wiping cloth is too dirty. Wash out your mop head thoroughly and mop your floor again. Repeat this process until there are no more streaks remaining. It is best to use cold water for mopping (optimally with clean & green active
or natural
). Or use cold clear water and damp mop your floor again.
An incorrect dosage amount of the floor cleaner can also cause unsightly smears or streaks. You should therefore make sure that you always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the correct dosage of your floor cleaner in order to ensure streak-free cleaning results. Your cloth is clean and you have used the correct dosage of floor cleaner and yet there are still streaks? It may still be because of your cleaning cloth. That's because using fabric softeners in conjunction with cleaning agents can lead to unsightly smears. Therefore: never use fabric softeners when washing your cleaning cloths.
Is there anything I need to look out for when mopping
if I have underfloor heating?
Yes, there is actually. Switch off the underfloor heating when mopping your floor. This is because the heat generated in the floor by the underfloor heating dries the floor too quickly and unsightly smears or streaks form. Therefore: turn off the underfloor heating when mopping.
