Elegant parquet in a smart multi-layer structure
Simply Well-Built: Our Multi-layer Hardwood Flooring
It’s not just about the surface - our HARO parquet flooring also impresses with its inner qualities. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about our high-quality multi-layer parquet flooring.
If you’re looking to install real wood flooring in your home, there are many good reasons to choose parquet flooring from HARO. Thanks to decades of experience in woodworking, we—as Germany’s leading manufacturer of engineered wood flooring - know all too well what matters when it comes to installing wood floors. That’s why we have the perfect engineered wood flooring for every taste and living situation. We offer a wide variety of wood species, designs, and finishes just waiting for you to discover them. But a hardwood floor from the market leader doesn’t just stand out for its appearance - it also demonstrates its technical quality through its sophisticated construction and precise, quick installation.
Generally speaking, a distinction is made between solid wood floors and engineered hardwood. Engineered hardwood is available as 2-layer and 3-layer options.
Multi-layer parquet: the sophisticated and contemporary wooden floor
Solid wood floors, as we know them from days gone by, have serious drawbacks and make it difficult to lay them evenly. This is because wood is a living material that reacts to its environment. Fluctuations in humidity cause significant warping in solid parquet, whilst an uneven subfloor necessitates time-consuming sanding work. The production of solid parquet was also anything but sustainable. Large quantities of timber were used to produce very little flooring.
Our HARO multi-layer parquet solves these problems quite simply. Thanks to its three-layer construction, featuring an additional crosswise core layer, the natural ‘movement’ of the wood is reduced by up to 70 per cent. Experts refer to this as a ‘locked-down’ structure. Unlike solid parquet, multi-layer parquet is also the better choice in terms of raw material consumption and environmental impact, as it uses significantly less valuable hardwood. This is, of course, also a tangible advantage from a cost perspective.

3-layer engineered hardwood flooring
Whether oak, Canadian maple, or walnut, we use only carefully selected hardwood for the top wear layer. Depending on the series, this wear layer is between approximately 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm thick. Beneath it, uniformly dried solid spruce strips provide stability. Arranged perpendicular to the wear layer, this layer—also known as the core layer—ensures optimal distribution of tensile forces. The third and bottom layer consists of a softwood back veneer. This guarantees long-lasting dimensional stability. With our optional Silent Pro Comfort underlayment, you can add impact sound insulation as a fourth layer to your pre-finished hardwood flooring.
HARO 3-layer parquet is available in the following formats (designs): plank 1-strip Plaza 240 , plank 1-strip 180, 3-strip XL Plaza 240 and longstrip.
We have optimised parquet flooring with a 3-layer structure for floating installation with the easy-to-install Top Connect click connection system. For even more stability, the parquet can also be glued down by professionals. A third type of installation is offered by our optional ComforTec installation system, which, with self-adhesive strips on the underside, is also a way for DIYers to fix parquet to the subfloor. Of course, our 3-layer parquet is suitable for installation on underfloor heating and cooling.

Two-layer parquet flooring
Do you want a floor that’s timeless and particularly sturdy? With our two-layer strip parquet, you can choose from four trendy formats. Whichever you choose, they all feature a wear layer made of oak or other fine woods, making them a real eye-catcher in your home. Solid spruce strips form the sub-structure. These are arranged perpendicular to the hardwood wear layer, ensuring the necessary stability through optimal distribution of tensile forces.
The construction is similar to that of 3-layer parquet. However, the bottom layer is omitted. This is unnecessary, as the specialist bonds the pre-finished strip parquet directly to the screed using the solvent-free, low-emission HARO elastic adhesive. A floating installation is not possible.
Long-lasting enjoyment and high quality are therefore guaranteed with all our floors. Our strip parquet also brings classic parquet laying patterns into your home. The formats range from the Strip Allegro, the Strip Classico and the Plank 1-Strip Prestige to the impressive dimensions of 180 x 2200 mm of the Plank 1-Strip Maxim.
Pre-finished parquet with a 2-layer construction offers exceptional stability: these parquet floors are fully glued down by a professional. This means that even challenging installation scenarios, such as rooms with irregular layouts, can be accommodated, and transition strips can sometimes be dispensed with. If you have any questions or need advice on specific applications, please speak to your specialist retailer or floor fitter – they’ll be happy to advise you.
So, whilst your new parquet is being glued down by the tradesperson, you can start thinking about the décor or spend the day with your family at the Botanic Gardens.
