Queenstown is situated on the eastern edge of the New Zealand Alps and is well known for the mild climate that it enjoys throughout the year. The city is located directly on Lake Wakatipu and appeals in particular to outdoor fans. And why not? People can enjoy outdoor activities here throughout the year. The area is just as popular with tourists as it is with New Zealand natives. Skiing and snowboarding during the winter; trekking, biking, climbing and water sports during the summer: In this spectacular mountain setting, visitors have a really hard time keeping their feet still – and the friendly, cosmopolitan city offers all sorts of things for them to do.

Dream flat with a majestic view of the lake

The dream of many New Zealand natives is to own their own place that is located in or near unspoiled natural settings. As a result, Queenstown is filled with apartment buildings where, in particular, New Zealanders who live in the country’s metropolitan areas on the coast maintain hideaways near the mountains. Some of these flats can be rented. But many owners simply reserve them for themselves and their families. The Panorama Terrace Apartment that we had the pleasure of outfitting is a member of the latter category. A company called Install a Floor selected a rustic classic from HARO’s parquet line to serve as a very natural contrast to the light-coloured wooden ceilings and walls: Plank 1-strip oak tobacco grey brushed with an oiled surface. A floor bursting with so much naturalness fits very harmoniously into the apartment design, a concept that uses many wooden elements. The rustic Plank 1-strip lends a charming hut-like character to the huge sitting and dining area with its elegant radiance.
