Modern staircase in North Macedonia

The staircase is a central element in the layout of a house. It forms the focal point of the floor plan. A staircase is not just a way of getting upstairs, it determines the relationship between the floors. That also has consequences for the layout of the rooms upstairs and downstairs: What are the logical flow paths (bedroom–bathroom–children’s room)? Where do “dead corners” or beautiful views occur?

Stairs are often in view when entering a house, making them a kind of calling card and at the same time an architectural statement. Depending on the type, they make the room open and airy (e.g. open/”floating” staircase), quieter and more shielded (e.g. closed staircase with risers), or even light or dark because they let light through or block it. Staircases are like light architecture in everyday life. They are sometimes even a central design anchor for the choice of materials and style because, as in the case of HARO Stairs, the stairs and tread perfectly match the floor.

HARO Stairs is a system with which the steps are available in exactly the same look as HARO floors . The step elements are made from original HARO parquet (or laminate/design flooring), so that the wood type, colour and surface are 100% identical to the installed floor. The flooring and staircase appear to be all of a piece, forming a perfect visual symbiosis.

In these beautiful rooms, you can see exquisitely how a harmonious combination of steps and flooring has been achieved. This minimalist, modern“floating” design staircase with its strong architectural character is a real statement: minimalistic, modern, almost graphic. The staircase looks like a clear line in the room – with no visible stringers or classic banister infill. Thanks to the open tread stairs (no risers), the room remains visually large and airy. It is less a “construction element” and more a designed object in the room.

The HARO Stairs treads made of robust oak are very thick and angular, with a visible grain and knots. This look corresponds exactly to the installed HARO Oak Alabama structured parquet, thus forming a perfect whole. The oak provides warmth and a natural feel, and contrasts sharply with the white walls of the room. The steps of this staircase appear to float in the air, creating a real wow effect.

The combination of light-coloured wood, white walls and black staircase elements has a very modern and Nordic feel, and the overall look is absolutely timeless. That makes this staircase a perfect match for the wide plank parquet flooring and the black ceiling spotlights.
