Apartment in the harbor district

Nicolinehus is a residential and commercial complex in the new Aarhus Ø district directly between the marina and the Havnebadet (harbour swimming pool). It is one of the last major components of the first development phase of Aarhus and combines urban living with maritime flair. The project consists of two striking, triangular structures with inner courtyards and stepped roof gardens/balconies designed like a staircase on the side facing the water. This gives many of the flats and offices expansive harbour and sea views and an unobstructed view that impresses visitors and allows plenty of light to penetrate the rooms.

This is an exclusive and customised product from HARO, which the Bavarian company offers in its parkettmanufaktur. A total of 120 square metres of HARO PARKETTMANUFAKTUR 6000 TG PL XL 4V Oak br. oleovera was installed, which alone amazes onlookers with its high quality and extra-wide planks. In this exclusive project, the surface of the wood parquet was given a special blue-grey finish in the parkettmanufaktur, which makes it look even brighter. That creates a much lighter visual effect, so that this parquet resembles the light white HARO parquet floors, but with the fine quality of the HARO parkettmanufaktur.

This flat therefore fits perfectly into the Nicolinehus concept. In terms of design, this picks up on the classic, robust red brick block structures of the old town in Aarhus, but interpreted in a contemporary way. With flats, commercial space and offices as well as a market hall with lots of cafés and restaurants, Nicolinehus brings urban living to the water’s edge. That makes it not just a residential complex at the harbour but a place that people enjoy being in thanks to attractive courtyards, beautiful spaces and die popular market hall.
