Solutions for barrier-free living

The HARO Kontrasto stair nosings allow steps to be identified reliably thanks to the high-contrast leading edge of the stair.

HARO Kontrasto

Safety when climbing stairs

The HARO Kontrasto stair noses are available in two versions and allow the combination of different wood types, creating a clearly visible contrast between tread and edge. This stair design follows the specifications of the German DIN 32975 standard. It is becoming increasingly important as an effective means to ensure mobility and safety for people with visual impairment. HARO Kontrasto and the new wall protection elements are a perfect way to achieve this with a stylish and sophisticated interior design.

The HARO Reverso direction-change board prevents trip thresholds as it can be installed continuously from room to room.

HARO Reverso direction-change board

Avoiding trip hazards - continuous installation from one room to the next

Professional installers are increasingly asked to install parquet flooring continuously from one room to another to enable barrier-free access without transition mouldings. One reason is the trend towards spacious, open-plan living spaces; another reason is the growing requirements for barrier-free access. The HARO Reverso direction-change board now allows continuous installation from one room to the next – with perfect fit and no time loss.

HARO Takteo tactile signal elements provide safety for people with visual impairments when moving about.

HARO Takteo

Visible and audible indication thanks to high-contrast and/or tangible design of steps, stairs and passageways

When ground surface indicators need to be installed, for example in barrier-free hotels or retirement homes, there used to be no appealing solutions to create a cosy homelike feel. With HARO Takteo, which is an innovative and patented ground surface indicator system based on parquet flooring, a barrier-free living environment is now possible at affordable cost and with a stylish design. Visually impaired persons can detect the different geometries with a white stick and, at the same time, they can also hear the difference thanks to sound sheets that are factory-fitted to the board underside. This system fully meets the objective of the "principle of two senses", which significantly increases the safety of tactile guide systems according to a person's sensory perception.
