All about cork

HARO Cork Floor – Bringing nature into your home.

HARO Cork Floor is full of natural character
Carefully selected and processed cork forms the basis for a floor covering that is superior in ecology, building biology and ergonomics. HARO cork flooring is warm to the touch and provides excellent heat and sound insulation. It also reduces impact to the joints and spine, and is very easy to clean and care for.

Inviting for bare feet
You really don't know much about cork? This natural raw material from the bark of the cork oak can do a lot more than just stopper wine and champagne bottles. Carefully selected and processed cork forms the basis for an environmentally friendly floor covering that is better in resilience and building biology than most over floor coverings. A cork floor provides reliable footfall sound, room sound and heat insulation - and is yet very easy to maintain.

Bring nature into your home
We use only highest quality bark from the cork oak for the manufacture of our cork floors. After all, we want you to enjoy your floor for a long time. After the surface finish is applied, nothing will come in the way of a unique appearance in your home.

A multi-talent
Cork shrinks by up to 40 percent under pressure - and immediately recovers to its original shape as soon as the pressure level is normal again. One piece of cork of the size of a sugar cube contains about 60 million air cells. They make cork as elastic as the human skin. Maybe that's why children just love to play on a cork floor? People with allergies or asthma also appreciate cork because it does not collect dust and dirt and literally stays clean down to the pores.

Raw material with a history and a future
Already the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans appreciated the elasticity and watertightness of cork – particularly when it came to safely stoppering and sealing wine bottles and amphoras. In the past thousands of years a wide diversity of other application areas have developed. Today cork is used for the ergonomic soles of sandals, floats of fishing nets, environmentally friendly insulation of roofs and walls, and even as a high-tech insulation material in the Space Shuttle.
