The World's Quietest Laminate Floor
With the innovative HARO Laminate Floor Silent CT, HARO has developed a new process to make laminate floors quieter and therefore more comfortable.
Rosenheim/Hopfgarten - The Zedern Klang 4-star spa hotel in Hopfgarten im Defereggental, which is located in East Tyrol, Austria, offers a perfect symbiosis of modern architecture and traditional building materials such as wood – processed and integrated with a focus on naturalness and harmony. The closeness to nature is also reflected in the precious parquet floors from parkettmanufaktur by HARO. The client took an immediate liking to this individual woodfloor chosen by the renowned Griessmann, Mayr, Scherzer architects’ team.
parkettmanufaktur plank 1-strip Thermo Ash mezzo floorboards with a handscraped surface now adorn hotel rooms, suites and dining room on an area of about 2,500 square metres. The key demand that client Tatiana Maksimova placed on the architects Griessmann, Mayr and Scherzer right from the start was to build a hotel that perfectly blends into the landscape and expresses harmony with nature. The majority of materials therefore comes from natural resources, such as wood, glass and natural stone. This has the additional advantage of minimising the effects of allergens. For the same reason, the indoor swimming pool is sanitised using skin-friendly salt water instead of adding chlorine. Those with allergies can also breathe a sigh of relief in the rooms, which are laid with Thermo Ash flooring finished with Oloevera® natural oil. The special oil finish dries by oxidation, protects and brings out the unique character of the wood. It creates an open-pored surface that allows the wood to breathe and gives it a warm, pleasant feel.
The hotel was the first hotel in Austria to be awarded the “KlimaHaus A” certification by the Bozen-based independent KlimaHaus Agentur certification body.
Wood on the floor - nature from top down
The rooms were designed and furnished with special attention to superior quality and a relaxing atmosphere. The outcome: The dark colour of the parkettmanufaktur plank 1-strip floor made of thermally treated ash contrasts beautifully with the light-coloured cedar wood panelling on the walls and ceiling. The combination visually opens up the building to the outside world and brings nature’s moods indoors, while the well-balanced interior design enhances the feeling of being in close touch with nature. The precious natural-oil plank 1-strip floor supports this relaxing atmosphere literally from the ground up.
From A(sh) to C(edar)
The name “Zedern Klang” derives from the cedar, the evergreen tree that features on the hotel’s emblem. The powerful cedar wood is said to have healing properties; it also symbolises the spa hotel’s close-to-nature philosophy. Ash wood is currently considered the most valuable European wood species. Its typical lively grain is intensified by the natural oil, while the thermal treatment gives the originally light-coloured wood a rich, dark-brown tone. The handscraped surface further enhances the natural look and feel of the wood.
parkettmanufaktur by HARO
Choosing parkettmanufaktur by HARO means choosing a custom made, hand-worked floor. Each floor is one of a kind, individually crafted to customer specifications from a wide variety of designs, wood species and sophisticated surface treatments. Each and every board is refined by hand as if it were a work of art - from smoothing, brushing or scraping to bevelled edges on the long sides or all four sides. The parquet surface is then treated with the Oloevera® natural oil, which dries by oxidation, protects and brings out the unique character of the wood. The oil finish creates an open-pored surface that allows the wood to breathe and gives it a pleasant feel.
