From Tree Seedling to Parquet.

The path from the tender little tree seedling to the precious wood parquet is far – at least in terms of time. Otherwise, we advocate short distances: The majority of our timber comes from our neighbourhood – the Alpine region.

An ecologically sustainable, environmentally safe production has always been of great importance to us. No wonder we have been certified to DIN EN 14001 and validated to the EU Eco Audit already since 1998 for our many efforts in safeguarding Mother Nature – by the way, as one of the first companies in the wood-working industry at that time. Our Blue Angel certification bears further evidence of our environmental competence. In autumn 2003, we were additionally awarded the PEFC certificate. In Europe, this certificate is proof that the timber we use can be traced and tracked through the entire product supply chain – called the “chain of custody” – from the certified, sustainably managed forest all the way through to the final product.

But it is not only the ecologically sustainable management which ensures a high natural quality. A significant quality criterion for wood processing is the swift further processing and manufacture of the harvested tree trunks. For this reason, we keep the trunks moist; this is the only way that the wood will retain its natural tone and colour. How does the way to the HARO Quality Parquet continue? The trunks are debarked and cut in our in-house sawmill. In many further processing steps, they are manufactured first into block boards and then into the top layer of your parquet flooring.

Now comes the moment of truth: Our experienced and exacting quality assurance staff scrutinises the result. With a keen, trained eye, they assure the high quality of the HARO surface. The perfect interaction between human and machine, between experience and quality awareness forges your HARO Quality Parquet square foot by square foot, each and every day.
